I'm having some major problems with static electricity affecting my computer. Sometimes when i move in my chair or get a shock from something, all my USB devices disappear. I've even been able to turn on my computer once or twice by getting a shock from my desk. I've narrowed the problem down to either a bad motherboard or just heavy static electricity build up in my room. I even bought a power supply reccomended by the [H] to see if that would help but it didn't. Before I try a new motherboard, I want to know if anyone has suggestions for getting rid of static in a room. Any ideas?
 
I hate it too....especially when I get in bed and I pull up the sheets and it shocks me........ohhhhhh.....you were talking about with your electronics..... :D
 
...are your components plugged into a properly grounded outlet? It won't cure all that ails you, but it's a decent start.
