What a nightmare I've had selling a graphics card. First auction ended with a 0 feedback buyer from florida which wound up nevery paying.

Relisted, then the second buy is another 0 feedback bidder who paid at the very last possible minute. They wound up sending me a misspelled address which UPS had to correct and the deliver was delayed.

NINE DAYS later they message me with this:

"Hey. The GPU I purchased from you is not working. It lights up. That's it. And the light is discolored from the one I have that is actually working. Let me know what we can do about this"

WTF? How is that even possible? It took them nine days for this to happen? Nine days of troubleshooting? "Disclolored light"?

I've already looked up my options and I'm completely out of luck - buyers can submit claims and easily get their money back in this situation.

Lesson learned - craigslist>ebay

Amazon is another selling option. I've had no issues selling on there.

eBay is a buyer's paradise. It's not worth it for non-retailers to sell there anymore.

I feel your pain but you can set your preferences to not accept bids under a certain feedback amount, negative reviews, etc...

Make sure they ship the card back before refunding. They'll probably ship you back a rock in a box but at least they had to go to the trouble and spend some money. Open a case first if you can and explain the situation and the fact they have no feedback and your concern of being conned about a return. Note the package weight if they try and ship back a lighter box.

Good luck!

Oh believe me, I tried to block as much as I could! I set all my preferences as strict as possible.

This is definitely the last time I ever use this site as a seller. It's so frustrating how easy it is for buyers to scam people there.

And the selling preferences are laughable, some buyers need over 2 marks on their record before they can be blocked from bidding!

I had this same thing happen when selling an iphone. Stated the issues and the item wasnt fully tested. He gets the item and at 6 days 22 hours he files a paypal claim asking for partial refund. I replied to the claim and said he was incorrect and linked multiple pictures of conversation and explained the length of time he took to get back to me each time was right to the limit. In the end they ruled in my favour and told him to pound sand.

This is General Hardware, not General Complaints. ;)
