I Hate Dell

I dunno about consumer level experiences as I don't buy dell products, but in my company, we purchase "complete care" warranty for our laptops. This covers accidental end-user damage as well as manufacture defects and I have to have parts replaced constantly (nearly weekly). Usually within 24 hours they have a technician on-site to replace parts as needed. Once in a while I'll get a snotty rep but I always follow through to report his ass. :p

Perhaps they treat enterprise customers differently but my experiences aren't that bad if you consider the avg experience over the sheer volume i process these.

Good customer service is hard to come by, so when i find it i stick with the company that offers it. Thats why i would recommend silverstone, Joel in user support has helped me so many times and extremely promptly, its ridiculous. And as far as Dell is concerned, i've many mixed thoughts.

I don't remember having any problems with Dell or HP support but that is probably because they were minor issues.

NEC support is very good from my experience. I had a problem with my monitor and NEC sent me a new one right away with two day shipping.

I ordered L4D2 in december when they had a sale, after waiting a week and seeing it in stores at a local gamestop for the same price, I called Dell to cancel my order. Well, I was on hold forever, so I stayed on the phone and drove to the gamestop and bought L4D2 and right as I was paying for it someone from dell got on the phone to assist me with the cancelation.

Yes I had time to get shoes on, get in my car, drive 3 miles, park, walk into a store and purchase a game before someone on the phone could even talk to me. Thats pathetic Huh-beeb!!

AGAIN ....

This is the most problems and longest wait I have ever had to wait for... and for just 2 monitors,... I WANT MY EYEFINITY DAMNIT!!!!

delayed my order for the 4th time now... I called them and they are going to try and rush my order out now and get me free next day shipping.

First thing I said was "if you would have just got my order out to begin with I wouldn't need free next day shipping and you would have saved the company over $100" (guessing it costs well over $100 to ship two monitors over night)

but again have not heard anything back from them, no email no nothing saying my monitors are going to be here anytime soon

Ordered on 12/23/09 - delayed 4 times now with new dates.... newest date is 2/3/10 but hey free over night shipping.... as if at this point it matters

Don't large companies like Dell have some discounts from Fedex/UPS when it comes to shipping. I would think with all the shipping they do, it has to be a lot cheaper than normal.

Oh I am sure that is completely true...(they most likely make money on shipping charges  ) but someone looses (Dell, FedEx, UPS), my only lose is having to wait 2 months for my monitors

Oh and I don't care who looses out, I just want my monitors

i bought one dell 2005 fpw. it had really bad backlight bleed. oh well, ill rma it.

indian from iowa on the phone. insists on going through retard computing 101.
reboot, unplug, power cycle, check bit depth, check graphics drivers, check resolution, check to see the cords are connected, check to see the outlet has power, after 45 minutes i give the fuck up.

i call back, get an american, and the whole process takes 5 minutes.

Experience with Dell pro support, and i love them. Dell are very helpful, know what they're doing and RMA's are next day before 10am with a swapover. Brilliant.
Ordering stuff from Dell is usually quick and easy, though sometimes hard to track i find.
As for normal accounts and support i have no idea.
