This may sound a bit newbie but all of the sudden I can't access my school's website, but can access any other website I try. I've tried clearing cookies, temp internet files, and it loads fine on other people's computers. I'm using IE but I installed Opera and it does the same thing. I have removed all spyware too. Anyone ever had something like this happen?
 
Yeah, when the school's network went down. It's their end, don't worry about it.
 
What the shit. I had this same EXACT thing happen to me. I tried everything imagineable and ended up formatting, expecting not being able to access my schools website after (none of the pages on their server worked, not my e-mail, not specific class sites, etc.). Guess what, it worked (first site I tried). I really don't know what the hell did it either, as I am super clean with my computer and never install anything sketchy. Wish I could help more, my only solution is a format.

Does it just time out for you, yet all other sites work 100%?
 
Regardless, it's pretty safe to say it's out of your hands. The communication paths between you and the school are probably messed up at the moment.
 
ya it says its "opening the page" like it found it but then just times out and gives "page cannot be displayed". And all other sites i go to work just fine. This is a University website as well...

wow.. first time I ever heard of formatting cause ya couldn't get to a certain site.
Chances are that in the time it took ya to format and reinstall.. the route was fixed or something.

Not true. As I said above, I couldn't access anything off their servers and 2 hours later after a format I could. I couldn't access their site for almost a month and after formatting I could instantly. I know one other person who was having the same problem, from his laptop off the wireless network at the University. This is not a problem with their network (or wasn't for me and sounds like the same issue here).

I know my way around computers and tried everything to fix it, had a friend over that is a networking guru and he didn't know what the hell was going on. I contacted IT at the U and it seems to be an issue that has been coming up, and they don't know what is causing it. Sounds like shens, I know.
 
what school/site? if we can get to it, it is a problem on your end...
