Thanks to all of you that helpsd me last week with my problems. I think i have found out what caused my system to not display video.....the Silverstone PSU that i bought! I thought it looked good, it was recommended to me as being good....it is what killed my system. I hooked it up last night to another system and guess what....same results. this time i got a bad checksum warning at post. it went through its deal and wouldn't boot windows. i shut down the computer and turned it back on BOOM no video. same exact symptoms from my Asus. I called newegg today and they are taking it back and returning my money without doing the whole 15% restocking fee (the egg rocks!).

so here i am needing another psu..... how does the 600w OCZ Gamestream sound?

Get the OCZ GXS 600W, they are GREAT! ;)

Only $85 at Monarch AMIR.

I think you should exchange the Silverstone.

ANY power supply is going to have some failure rate. That bad unit is going to end up in someone's computer. This time it was yours. Now you want to change horses mid-stream?

david- i actually think thats the OCZ i was looking at.

jonny- it killed two of my pc's....i'm not taking a chance with another one. i did tell the guy at newegg and he did say that they would send it back to Silverstone and have it recertified. oh well, its not my problem anymore. I RMA'd it earlier today.

edit- David- which one of these is the correct one? link

$104.99: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817341001

OCZ GameXStream 600W with 4x +12V rails. ;)

why are 4 rails better than 2? not just the number of rails, i would like to know the real reason.
Who said they were better?

It all depends on what you need.

I'm sorry about your experience with that power supply, matrix. I feel kinda bad since you bought it on my recommendation. It worked great for me so I was eager to help others get a good product, too. Sucks you got a lemon. :(

Completly understandable decision - I would like to say that I have the silverstone st60f and its the best PSU i have owned yet. I think you got a lemon also. :(

Yeah. You're right. Silverstones are NOTORIOUS for killing PC's. Happens all of the time.

Better to kill your PC slowly over a longer period of time with crappy DC output. ;)
