I can't disconnect the fan on my new Sapphire Radeon x1950pro to attach my waterblock! It is a typical three pin header, but it "locks in" and I cannot get it out. Any ideas???

Apparently the solution is to slip with your pair of pliers and sever all wires.

Although now that it is apart I see that there were two small holes in the connector. These needed to be simultaneously depressed while pulling up on the top. I'm not certain how this is possible by yourself without special tools.

A paper clip bent into a U.

Or pilers work fine. Just make sure you grab onto the part that disconnects.

Sounds like the good old "yank it off" method worked just fine here.

Excuse me while I go jiggle the handle.
