I decided to pull the stock heatsink off of my BFG 6800 OC and apply some Arctic Ceramique. Without a second thought I pulled the thermal pads over the memory right off. They didn't come off nice and neat either. Anyways, now I have a gap between the mem and HS. The ceramique on the memory is touching the ceramique on the HS, but it is by strings of the stuff. I have looked and found articles saying do not run the card like this. I have also read as many saying it was not that big of a deal. I will be getting an NV 5 next week to solve the problem permanantly, but untill then I wanted to get an idea on running the card like it is. Anyone know of a good article or have more than just an idea of whether it will hurt the card or not? I have a well ventillated case. 2 80mm fans up front, 1 in back, 1 at the top and a 92mm on my cpu. My room is also cold, so my internal temps stay way way down. Any help appreciated.
 
if your internal temps are fine I think you'll not have much of a problem, If your'e too scared, go and downclock your memory with a program like rivatuner and it will be fine
