I'm struggling. I was testing my new/build loop out. Everything was working fine until I tried OCing right after I updated to the newest BIOS. Build is a Asus P5N7A-VM, Intel C2D 8500 that's gotten to 4 ghz stock on water, OCZ Reaper DDR2 1066, OCZ Vertex, in a CPU Loop cooled by a MCR320.

After the OC attempt and BIOS attempt I can't boot into Windows it gets stuck at the Windows 7 Start up screen. I've tried reinstalling Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP on the Vertex, on another SATA HD, cleared the CMOS, but every time... in Windows 7 or Vista installation it hangs right after the initial loading of the drivers, in the Windows start up screen if that windows screen loads at all and in Windows XP it hangs on the Windows Starting message after loading all the controller drivers.

What could be the problem??? Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this? I don't think it's the CPU or my memory, is it the mobo, sata controller, bios?

Thanks in advance.

From the sound of things, the latest BIOS revision for your board may have been bad for you.

You may need to find an earlier, working BIOS revision and, if you're able to, perform a "floppy" install (or, flash the BIOS manually, before you install windows). You need to see whether or not there is a way for you to install the BIOS using a floppy drive or a bootable storage drive (like a thumb drive).
