I cant decide on a video card

Hello, I am new here to this site and am trying to find a good video card that will be cost efective and be able to play games like doom3 and half life 2 on there highest settings. I have Agp slot and need a great card that will last more than a while before they invent a new one. I am thinking mabye a X800xl or X850pro i think they made a X850pro with 16 pipes now but i am not shure. Please help me.

x800xl has 16 pipes, x850pro has 12, x850xt has 16. Consider things like a 6800gt as well as they are good cards too

I have x800xl and i run hl2 on max, I would recommend it.
