I can't create a new word document in Windows 7. Please help!

When I right click on my desktop or a folder, and go to New, I have the option to create a new folder, a new text document, etc, but I don't have the option to create a new Word document, even though I have Word installed on my PC and works fine.

Can someone please tell me how I can fix this problem?

The hotfix referenced in that article does not work with my version of word (2003).

grab the disc and do a repair, and there should be a button to repair shortcuts.
This should fix the context menu also.

edit: it looks like you should be able to open any Office application, click Help and "Detect and Repair"
