Man I keep changing my mind!

I have a 30" Dell HC primary monitor and a 17" Acer AL707 in dual display mode. I want to replace the Acer with a new display.

So some questions (I don't play any games and this is purely for my CAD/design work)-

1- Would Dell 2407 be an improvement on the AcerAL707 as far as REAL WORLD image quality is concerned? My local shop has BenQ FP241W on stock. Better that 2407?

2- Yes I would have preferred S-ISP (1600x1200) version of Dell2007 or HP2065 but if I cannot even be sure of that due to the whole lottery business then I might as well go for a larger non S-ISP screen. My primary would still be S-ISP Dell 30" HC. The secondary display is mainly for reference stuff while I work on the main display. Is my thinking flawed or should I go for S-ISP panel from a company that guarantees S-ISP panel like NEC to match the S-IPs screen of my primary display? Even if that means me forking out $$$?

3- Whatever happened to the new NEC 24" screen? When will it be properly available in Europe?
For a secondary display that would be wasting money right?

Ok I am an indecisive F**K! :D Help me out!!!!!! :D

Heh - I went through the same thing, and decided to go for the HP 2065. I did get an
IPS panel, and think that the odds are still very good that you would too.

My reasoning for using the 2065 was that I could set it to portrait mode right next to the
HC, and both screens would be almost exactly the same height (1600 x .25/.255, so
only 8mm off), so mousing back and forth would be more convenient. In the US, the
2065 was only $380, not sure what it would be where you are.

Best of luck,

CAMster

the benQ is better than the 2407 AND it's from your local shop so if there is a problem it's a simple matter to return it.

if they allow for exchanges or returns try the benq it has great reviews.

the NEC doesn't appear to be much of a gaming monitor.

If you really want to match and have everything look great the 2007WFP (S-IPS) with the same bezel/stand design would be best. If you opt for guaranteed S-IPS..the only widescreen I know for sure is the NEC 20WMGX2 which will give you a different stand/bezel design as well as a glossy screen coating which may look strange paired with the Dell.
