i have 3x250 drives in a pata nvidia raid using my onboard nvidia raid.

upon taking the system down and rebuilding to tidy it up. the raid will not work. the same 3 drives still appear in the nvidia raid screen. but they will not come up. not even as a broken raid.

ideas?

  • What raid level?
  • Did you connect them to the same ports you had them connected to before?
  • Same motherboard or did you switch?
  • Did you upgrade the bios in between?

raid 5 i think. jbod
im checking the ports tongiht as that could very well be my problem. i was sure to be carefull but may have screwed up regardless.

same mobo. same exact pc.
no bios upgrades

so it has to be the order the drives are ont he channels.

thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the onboard nVidia RAID thingie doesn't do RAID-5. Also, JBOD != RAID-5. Which is it?

there still in the right order. ima try switching them aroudn regardless.

its JBOD <

and the drives appear under the raid manager. but if i add them to a new raid it wont stick.

wtf. check me confused

if i put these on a normal channel. with them being jbod. will they appear as normal drives?
