We'll I did have a real loud crappy 15$ PSU that was awfuly loud. So i tried modding it by taking out the loud fan and putting in my old PSU(silent) fan that was from my old Celeron 333.

We'll a long story short, I fucked up putting my fan in and i ended up breaking my PSU.

So, what's a cheap, silent PSU you could recomend me that below 100$ USD or 200$ NZL.

"Cheap" below $100 USD??? You can get pretty much all of them for under $100. And if that's a typo and you mean REALLY "cheap" -- don't do it. Rule #1 of building, do not skimp on the PSU. Antec, etc etc. Do not buy a cheap one.

Hmmm ok, so would you recomend some of the ThermalTake PSU's? That have the two silent fans in them?

Antec PSU's are quiet and EXCELLENT.....I have an Antec TrueBlue 480W PSU and love it....

Antec all the way!

Dunno, probably not. Once more people reply, they'll tell you which ones to get - I've been out of the game for a while. Antec is a sure way to go though, quiet, lighted, etc -- lots of options.

My Antec (300W QuietPower) is nice and quiet, powers my XP1800+ just fine. ;)

thermaltake OEM pretty decent power supplies, if they're significantly cheaper than an antec, go for it... if the difference is marginal, get the antec.

Cheaper but equally good alternatives are any of the PSUs made by Fortron and sold under several names, including Fortron, Sparkle, Aopen, Trend, Hi-Q, Power-Q, Powertech (not Powertek!!!), and Powerman.

Antec is now made by Channel Well Technology (says CWT on the transformers inside), and their TruePowers are sold as Channel Well A series (i.e., CWT-430ADP, where D = dual fan, S = single fan, P = power factor corrected) and SmartPowers and Solution Series are B series (i.e., CWT-400BD). Don't buy a Channel Well that's not an A or B.

I don't know what's available in your market, but some other good brands are Lite-On, Zippy, and HEC (Heroichi, Compucase).

Stay away from anything with an animal in its name -- Deer, Hyena, Mustang, Eagle -- all made by Deer, which also produces Duro, Allied, Codegen, L&C, Logic, PowerUp, Supercase, Powerstar, Austin, Qmax, Foxconn, Foxlink.
