I bought a gig of ram, my question is do I just set them into their slots and they will work, or do I need to do something (I remember someone talking about something like dual channels, what is this?) Thanks!

Stick it in the right slots if you want dual channel most of the time there is two slots on the left and one on the right. So put one in one of the two slots and another one on the right single slot.

The two slots, 1 slot thing is generally only on some Athlon mobos.

What kind of motherboard do you have Redrum?

Typically, place the two sticks into the same colored DIMMs.

not sure bout amd,, but dual channel are usually slots 1,3 or 2,4 for intel mobos... if not refer to your manual just in case...

Sometimes the two needed slots will be blue. If you have two blue slots and one or two black ones, use the two blue ones.
