I have been reading guides for months now and RAM is confusing the hell out of me. I have a p4 and don't know what speed to buy. I know the FSB is 200 mhz quad-pumped, so my question is, do i buy 400mhz double pumped to 800, or 200 to 400?

Well, considering that they don't have RAM that does 800MHz effective, yet, I'd say you're looking for 200 (400 effecitve). HOWEVER... It all depends on your motherboard and chipset. Fill us in on that and we'll fill you in on your memory choices.

Actually there is 800mhz effective but it's DDR2

I am buying an Asus P5ND2-SLI DELUXE. Thanks for your time.
Hey, no problem. The motherboard is listed as using DDR2 in either hte 533 or 667 flavors. I would suggest a minimum of 667.

Any of these sets should work, but Asus also tends to be rather picky with memory.

that link isn't liking me, though newegg seems to be giving me crap right now. i'll browse around and make some suggestions in a while, when it's working again :p

I've come to notice that (cf)Eclipse is like the Jesus of memory, spreading the word of awesomeness.

bad analogy, i just have too much free time. looking over the specs, disregarding what i said, which looks like the best option to you for the price? ;)
