I am having serious problems...

So, the other day, I woke up and my computer wouldnt turn on. I had problems a few times in the past where in the middle of WoW, my computer would just randomly shut off. I would turn it on and it would be fine. But this time it was different. It wouldnt turn on at all. I noticed my mobo light wasnt lit so I changed the PSU but still the same problem. I figured it was the mobo. I sent it back to Asus and they sent me a new one.

I rebuilt my computer using the new mobo but I am still having the same problem, well minus one thing: the mobo light now lights up :|

I tried replacing the PSU again but still the same thing. I unplugged every drive but I still had the same problem. I am at the end of my rope and need some help. I dont want to spend the sixty bucks to have a local computer shop look at it, so I am turning to you guys for help. Please help!

PS. I have a P4 2.4, Asus P4C 800E delux, 1gb OCZ RAM, 9600 pro, 2x WD hds
 
first off.....what are the specs of the PSU you were using.

next.....The first thing i would do is simply start isolating the problem by switching components out and in. So far, you've got it down to the CPU, Video card, or ram.

/idea. Did you try a new power strip or wall socket too? give that a go and see what happens.

the PSU is 350 watts and i doubt its the strip or socket, my router and tv are also plugged into the strip and they both work
 
hmmmm. I bet it's the video card. do the fans turn on? Does it give you any beeps? Describe in detail what happens. when you say "it doesn't turn on", do you mean not go into windows? just trying to narrow down possiblities. ;)
 
i mean that it does not turn on at all, i hit the power button and nothing, at all no beeps, no fans no hamsters, nothing

i doubt its my video card, i plugged it, my RAM and my hds into my roommates old puter and it starts up fine, almost, it wont boot to windows but this is farther than i have gotten in 3 weeks, im guessing its my processor but is there any other way to check? and while im here, i get an error saying that windows didnt properly start up and needs to start in safe mode or normally, when i select either of them, i get nothing, the system hangs, how can i get past this?
