Find yourself in need of a new gaming headset? Overclockers Club has a review of the HyperX Cloud Revolver gaming headset posted today that should be of interest. Seriously, if you are considering a new headset, you will want to read this review.

Today, I introduce you to the Cloud Revolver from Kingston's HyperX Cloud Series Headsets. There is the Cloud Core, Cloud, Cloud II, and now the Cloud Revolver. This newest model, released today May 9th (if I get this posted in time), is the higher end model for the Cloud Series with "studio-grade sound stage for a competitive edge." I personally have not experienced the others from the Cloud Series, but the Cloud Revolver should provide quite the experience.

Good head set. I just did a review myself and put it on YouTube.

Sounds great. Comfortable as hell. Has no weight.

Main issue is my voice makes the steel band vibrate. It's odd as hell.

Wonder how well they compare to the older HyperX Cloud 1 and 2 headset?

PC Gamer just did a huge round up of headsets and they said that the Revolver sounded better then Cloud 1 and 2. They said that it is more balanced and precise. So I would say that its a good upgrade then the originals.

I have all three here, and the revolvers do sound a little better. I prefer the lows of my m100, but the revolvers are on my backup rig and sound great for gaming. They have a wider soundstage than the cloud 1 and 2.

Biggest thing about this headset for me is comfort. I've gone through a lot of them. Even the ASUS Strix DSP, which are huge so I thought would give my large noggin some comfort, but my head and ears still hurt after an hour or so. These though, I've worn for hours on end with no discomfort.

Comparing them to Cloud2 - they sound more accurate and crisp. Using them currently with Strix Soar sound card, and they do sound nice.

The only issue I see is lack of the velvet pads in box. That pseudoleather gets too hot and sweaty with summer gaming and current temps here.

The real issue is price tho. They are about $160 here and in range of DT770/990 or HD598 - so if you don't need mic, there are better solutions at this price point.
