I am sure this has been asked many times, but does Hypervee (with no active VMs running) have any impact on gaming peformance in windows 10?

I have seen a lot of chatter for Windows 8 and having impact on the GPU but that was all 2012 threads.

Anyone have any insight?
Am i better off with VMPlayer Pro?

Thanks in advance

HyperV installed with no VM's running would have negligible overhead on your system. There is a service running but that is about it. On your system listed in your Sig, you won't notice a difference if it was running or not.

As to your question about VMware player Pro/Free, I would suggest this route if you plan on building a few Linux VM's. If you want to stick to all Windows VM's, then I would suggest HyperV.

As Ivan said, with your system you wont feel the hit. I had 2-3 VM's active while paying games, the resouceses that at getting hit the most are disk and memory.
