hypertransport sync flood error while OC'ing video card

So today I was messing with the OC on my 2 cards(in sig) trying to push them a little further since I can adjust the voltage,I started with an OC of 915/1150 on both cards and got all the way up to 1020/1150 with the voltage just over 1.2v but noticed that upping the core was only giving me a 1 frame faster from 950 to 1020.So I started on the memory going all the way up to 1250,thats when the benchmark, metro 2033 on dx11 high, froze.

I know this is normal when a card is pushed to far,but when I restarted I got a error message,a hypertransport sync flood error has occurred,I have never gotten this while OC'ing a graphics card has any one else had this occur while OC'ing a graphics card?

I am thinking that maybe it could be something else in my system that needs to be retweaked, but there are so many conflicting reports of what causes HTSF error and I don't want to go messing with my CPU OC unless I have to,cards run fine at 950/1225 with no error's so that is where they will stay for now, just finished looping metro 30 times while I ran out for some quick food.

I guess I am just more curious than concerned at this point.

its probably just a fail safe message from the motherboard. but if that was really the case try increasing the hypertransport voltage slightly. i typically do it anyways when overclocking since its a habbit from the 754/939 days of overclocking.
