Hyperthreading support given sSpec?

How do I determine if a given processor supports Hyperthreading, given its sSpec number? The Processor Spec Finder doesn't seem to return this information,
 
It does return that information, and the answer is no. :p When HT is supported, it's listed in the Notes box. That processor doesn't support HT so it's not listed as a feature under Notes.

The only desktop P4 533MHz FSB processor with HT is the Northwood 3.06GHz version (with 512KB L2). An example: http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/details.asp?sSpec=SL6S5 Read the last item under Notes.

The rules that you can set in stone:

Desktop P4 533MHz FSB Processors supporting HT: 3.06GHz NW core only
Desktop P4 800MHz FSB Processors supporting HT: all NW and Prescott 1M/2M cores
Desktop P4 1066MHz FSB Processors supporting HT: all
(for simplification i'm purposely leaving out mobile P4s since different 533MHz FSB versions, above and below 3.06GHz, come with and without HT)

You're bound to find mistakes in the Notes sometimes (my old P4 3.4F didn't show EM64T, for example, but it was enabled), but not the 3 rules above. Wishing isn't going to make your 533MHz FSB P4 2.4GHz get HT enabled. :p Well, not unless you have an engineering sample with it enabled and even that is virtually impossible for you to have.
 
Thanks for the list. I can't understand why the Intel site doesn't make this clearer. Given a sCode, how do I find which core the processor is using so that I can use your set of rues?

I'm not wishing. I'm trying to sell some old parts I'm not using, and buy some other old parts to restore a computer for someone I know. Before I buy the part, I want to know if it's compatible with the target motherboard and what it will actually support.

Northwood is .13 micron
Prescott is .09 micron

Northwood has 512k cache
Prescott has 1 or 2meg cache
 
Are you positive, savantu? I got the processor installed in my machine for a bit, and ran CPUZ, which reported two cores:

My other proc is a SL7B8, and the Intel site also says that one doesn't support HT. But it certainly does!
Is there really no reliable way to tell, given the sCode?

It did, of course. (If CPUZ detected two logical processors, why wouldn't Windows?) And the BIOS "Hyperthreading Enabled" setting was available.
 
Oh, I misread what you were saying.

According to the rules laid out by PXC (and assisted by me), SL7B8 and SL6Z3 support HT. And that's also what savantu said.
 
Oh! Sorry. I read a "not" where there wasn't one there. I do that about twice a day; or miss a "not" where there was one. How can I survive in this world?
