ya i know the core 2's dont support hyperthreading but all of a sudden the enable/disable hyperthreading option has been showing up in my bios screen now.. kinda odd to me.. i recently swapped my buddy my 6600 for a 6700 .. LOL .. but that was a couple months ago.. never saw teh hyperthreading option.. now this last week.. got my old case back from my son so i could fit my 5850 in it better.. anyway ive been bldg my own stuff for a decade but almost always AMD.. this system i got off of craigslist for a steal .. came w/ c2q 6600 / asus p5n-d mobo / 9800gx2 / 4 gigs corsair ddr 2 / 750 watt silverstone psu.. and a piece of crap white case .. for 350 bucks almost a yr ago... anyway.. my first intel setup in ages.. so i was just gonna throw it all into a bigger case .. and then .. i met the intel stock cooler mounting pins.. getting them off was easy enuff.. took me a couple twists and turns to get em out.. putting them back in .. i really dont even want to talk about it.. but needless to say i actually took those out and burned them.. but due to the hs not being seated right.. my temps were all over the place.. actually hit 116* cel once.. in everest it was showing the cores actually reading negative numbers cuz it was sooooo hot.. anyway .. now the hyperthreading option is there.. see pics.. anyone??

I've only seen HT appear on bioses that were buggy and/or didn't fully support the processor. It may also sometimes appear after a CMOS clear. Try to get into windows once your cooling is up to par, and you will see only 4 threads.
