i've got hyper-v r2 (base, not full) installed and installed the hyper-v manager on windows r7. Thats where the happiness ends. I can't for the life of me get the hyper-v manager to connect to the machine. I have turned on the allow mmc remote management as well as allow server remote management. Nothing seems to work to let me.
when I try to connect with server manager but it gives me this error:
Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: The winrm client cannot process the request. If the authentication scheme is different from Kerberos, or if the client computer is not joined to a domain, then HTTPS transport must be used or the destination machine must be added to the trustedhosts configuration setting. Use winrm.cmd to configure trustedhosts. NOte that computers in the trustedhosts list might not be authenticated. You can get more information baout that by running the following command: winrm help config. For more information, see the about_remote_troubleshooting help topic.
So i've gone over the help topic and basically it doesn't tell me anything that seems useful. How do I use https transport?
note: I'm not using any domains at all.
