Hey Everyone,

I have setup a new lab with two hyper v hosts with a guest on each host running Server 2008 R2.
On Host A the guest can ping and connect to all needed network resources.
On Host B the guest can only ping the host and cannot connect to network resources.
Both Host A and B can ping and connect to any resources.
Both Host A and B have external virtual network adapters.
Windows Firewall is disabled on both hosts
Anti-Virus is disabled on both hosts

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Is the guest on Host B set for bridged connection?

Share the virtual adapter with the hyperV host and test to see if the adapter on host B is working at all.

Are MAC address assignments for the VMs using the same range?

Chas- The guest is connected to an external connection setup within hyper-v

Biznatch- I will try sharing the virtual adapter.
Yes MAC addresses assignments are in the same range.

Thanks!

Problem has been solved.
Still not sure of the source, but reinstalled network drivers and re-created virtual network, and issue was resolved.

Thanks again for the help!

The MAC assignment is a bad thing. You have 2 separate hosts assigning virtual MAC addresses to the virtual NICs of the VMs. If the 2 VMs get the same MAC you will have network problems. Change the range on one of the machines so they each assign from different pools. My guess is that re-installing the drivers already did this.
