I have searched the forum hoping to find out the three elements require to allow RemoteFX.
I already know the first two requirements, a CPU that support Extend Page Tables (i7 3930K), and a GPU that has WDDM 1.2 drivers and support DX11 - there are consumer grade cards that will do the job, but workstation cards will provide better support.
The third part I am having trouble with is a motherboard that has EPT enabled at the BIOS level.
My current motherboard, GA-X79-UP4 will only allow EPT support if I disable Execution Bit Support which in turn breaks Hyper-V.
I have tried the currently available BIOS updates (F4 and F5) with no success.
Is there something else that I need to do to the BIOS, or do I need to research another motherboard.
The output from coreinfo.exe -v
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz
Intel64 Family 6 Model 45 Stepping 7, GenuineIntel
HYPERVISOR * Hypervisor is present
VMX - Supports Intel hardware-assisted virtualization
EPT - Supports Intel extended page tables (SLAT)
And when I disable Execution Bit, VMX and EPT become available.
Any assistance much appreciated.
