Hyper Transport on A64 3000+ question.

I have a Chaintech S1689 mobo with the ULi M1689 chipset, and in the bios it says my HyperTransport is at 1600 MT/s. Now, my motherboard supports 2000, but I was wondering if the A64 3000+ processor did. My bro said only the 3200+ and up did 2000 MT/s, but sometimes I think he makes things up...

Can anyone help me out here?

all socket 939 CPU support 2000 HT your HT link has been set to 4x instead of 5x thus giving you a 1600 HT just change it to 5x unless you are going to OC your CPU then leave it at 4x
