Will a Cooler Master Hyper 6 or Scythe Ninja heatsink fit in my Cooler Master ATC-200 case? I guess it's basically a Praetorian minus one drive bay. Don't know if the clearance was any different? Thanks!

What else would work if these are too big? I mean, I know a lot of heatsinks are made, but those are the only 2 that I've read really good things about. Would the next step maybe be the Cooler Master standalone water block?

the regular hyper 6 will fit for sure, the hyper 6+ might, ill be putting my system w/ the hyper 6+ in the praetorian soon and ill tell ya how it goes ;)

The Scythe Ninja fits my CoolerMaster Centurion case with about 1/2 a cm to spare :D That's a Full sized ATX case

the cooler master ATC and praetorian cases are not as wide wide as the centurion and might have some clearance issues

Okay, I updated my question. If those heatsinks are too big, what would be my next best option?

The Hyper6+ fits fine in my Lian-Li PC60... So I'm sure it would fit in your mini-Praetorian. I think motherboard clearance is more of an issue for either of these than anything else. My Hyper6+ has a good 2" or more clearance around anything on the actual case.

Do have any clue what the dimensions on the Hyper6+ are? I can find the dimensions for the heatsink and one for the fan, but none for the total package. I have a Thermaltake passive tower in there right now and it is basically the biggest thing that can fit in there at 5.45" or 139mm.

Not that big.

I'd say the max height is about 4", MAYBE 5" TOPS. Just look at the dimensions of the cooler, and add the fan to one of the sides - it will more than likely be between your video card and the heatsink, or the heatsink and your PSU, depending on how your board is configured. Trust me, if you're not running an HTPC, you won't have any issues.

edit: Just looked up your cooler. Mine is definitely smaller. That Thermaltake is pretty slick though!

Width shouldn't be a problem. I think the height of the hsf would screw me over and I wouldn't be able to put my side panel back on.

Well, after seeing the the Hyper 6+ or Scythe Ninja Plus definitely won't work with my case, I decided to play around and throw an extra 80mm fan on top of my Thermaltake Fanless 103. I figured, it's the biggest heatsink that my case will fit and the only thing it lacks is a fan. Well guess what? I'm laughing my ass off right now because it has cooled my system down 17* C (from 51* down to 34*) and I'm pleased. For free, that can't be beat.

Oh, and my temps might be a little higher than the norm since I'm OC'd 100MHz. Maybe now that I've cooled things down, I might be able to push another 100-150 outta my Athlon 64. :D

i think this guy can fit his hyper 6+ in his wavemaster w/ the side panel on

And it seems like it just fit. I searched and the WaveMaster is a little more than 8" in width. My ATC-200 is 7" exactly. Owned royally there.

No worries, however. I just upped the OC on my chip to 2.3GHz (stock was 2GHz) and my temps are idling around 36* C. Compared to idling at 51* C when the 80mm fan wasn't installed (read: zip-tied to the passive heatsink), I think I'll keep this cooling solution around for a little while, at least until Conroe comes via UPS. :D

That's awesome - free IS always best. But, unless your PCI cards BARELY fit in your case, the Hyper6+ will fit. It is, undoubtably, smaller than what you have.

But I REALLY like that heatsink you have, it's awesome. Good job! :D

My Scythe Ninja Plus fits in my TJ07 case, but I had to mount it after the motherboard tray was slid into place. It would not fit otherwise :( It's not such a big deal though, as I am used to the larger Lian Li cases that do not have removeable motherboard trays. It sure is quiet though :D

Well, I'd rather not chance it. N H O said that the Hyper 6+ is 15cm tall, which is what I have to watch. My heatsink is only 14cm tall and is almost hitting the side panel as I only have a few mm of clearance. Yes, I'm sure the Hyper 6+ would fit in the space between the PSU, RAM, and GPU, but I don't think it will allow the side panel back on in the process.

Yeah, I'd love to have a Ninja in this case. I'll definitely be picking up a 'wider' tower for my next PC, which is to be built the week that the Conroes are released. :D
