I think I'm good but would like some opinions. I think I may have missed a step in the installation of my Hyper 212 Evo on a Asus Z97-A USB 3.1 but ultimately I think it took care of itself.

I was looking at youtube and other installation guides on how to install the Hyper 212 Evo. I can't for the life of me remember if I pushed down (prior to screwing the four screws into the mount I previously assembled on the motherboard in the zig zag direction) on the pin that is directly below in the middle of the heatsink. I've since done it (obviously) but it did not move at all.

I think what happened is that even though I may not have pushed down on the pin BEFORE screwing the four screws in, the pressure from the zig zag and the screws forced the middle pin that sits immediately below the heatsink to "secure" and thus all is well.

Facts:

1) heatsink is firmly locked in. My case is upright and the heatsink stays firmly in place. Before I put in the motherboard into the case I held the motherboard and twisted it around in the air and the heatsink did not move at all. Seemed firm.
2) my idle temps are good. 29c to 34c (75f to 85f).(no overclocking)
3) my fully loaded (100% cpu, ram, etc, prime95) temps are 54c to 60c (130f to 140f). (no overclocking)

Yes, I am probably being extremely cautious and asking this was probably not required but just wanted a second opinion. Thanks!

Yup, you did good. If it's firmly locked down with zero wiggle room, then you're good to go.

P95 will ramp up the temps, so when you game you will not see temps that high. I'm thinking mid 40's under normal gaming conditions. ;)
