Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
So i have acquired one of these recently. I have problems with it, i notice that there is little or no flow(not pumping) is there a way to gauge the flow? It's also making whining noises(different than a normal pump would make). it's a brand new.
The first thing I would do to see if its flowing would be to disconnect whatever comes after the pump in your loop, but leave everything else attached. Turn on the pump and see if water flows out of the tube attached to the outlet. Vary the height of the tube to see if it flows well at 0 feet head. It's hard to judge the flow unless you have a flow meter, but this subjective test should tell you whether it is actually pushing water or not.
Sometimes pumps need a few days to break in, so if you are still hearing funny noises in a couple of days, and there are no bubbles or anything unsual flowing through the pump, return it and get a Danner Mag3 (supreme3 etc...) from Petsmart or online. Works as well (most cases better) than the Hydor.
