HX620 - Devices per Cable?

I modded my power cables on the Corsair HX620 to put the sata power connectors closer together. (Like Here) But the stock cables only come with 3 connectors per cable, and I'd like to have 4 hard drives on one cable. Is it safe to run 4 hds off one cable? What is the max number of hard drives that can be hooked up to a single HX620 cable without overloading it?
 
Definitely. The HX620 can easily power four HDs even in a system with high-end components.

Zero: I think you misread my post. I'm talking 4 hds on one modular line from the psu.

I just don't want to overload a single feed, if that is even possible with hds...

I know exactly what you mean. The HX620 has a single 12v rail, so it doesn't make a difference which cable you use or if everything is on one cable, since the power is all coming from the same place anyway. It has a capacity of 50A across the 12v rail, which means it can handle 600W of load, well beyond what four HDs require. Each wire from the PSU can serve about 12a of with no problem... 12a @ 12v = 144w, and 12a @ 5v = 60w... Which is about 4-5 HD's with no issue. Note, that this value is very, VERY conservative...

Roughly 50% lower than the actual current capacity of these PSU wires... I've pulled about 9a through 20g wire with no problem... These PSU's use 16g wire, which should handle up to 18a for a short amount of time (aka, the drive startup).
