Hrm...their 7800 GTX 512 SLI numbers seem....a little bit off.
And it's weird normalizing the score to that *anyway*. And weirder yet some of the resolutions they are running - who runs at 2048x1638?!?
EDIT: Those numbers GOTTA be BS. No way are X1900XTs - even in Crossfire - going to run Half-Life 2's "Lost Coast" level at 137fps at 2048x1638 with 14xAA w/ Adaptive AA and HQ AF.
Those look like ATi benchmarks... as in, they don't like like that particular sites benches, but something from an internal ATi document.
Either way, IF the X1900 series does have 48 pixel pipelines like Sapphire's leak said, I think those scores ARE possible. That said, I don't think the 7800GTX 512 scores as bad as those particular graphs make it seem. Either way; if the X1900 is nothing more than a X1800 with THREE times the amount of pixel pipes (16 x 3 = 48) the card would easily brute force it's way to those scores.
In many cases the X1900 is only ~20% faster than 512GTX which isn't that huge. However because the graphs start at 80% for 512 GTX, it appears to be a huge difference.
Basically 80% of those bars are cut off, and the ends enlarged, making it seem a bigger difference.
It's like the first 80% of the bars are cut off, and the last 40% was enlarged with a magnifying glass. So 20% faster appears like twice as fast or something.
if it has 48 pipelines and such high core clocks and stuff, it SHOULD by all logic SMOKE every SLI setup, but it doesnt... i think its all BS. 48 pipelines et al. although on the optimistic side, if its true, Canada Pwns, remember that.
I dunno maybe it is maybe it isnt.
ATi has been gunning for efficency lately with their AA and AF.
Couple that with two X1900s in Crossfire and I dont see a problem. Who knows though, we will have to see.
