OMG I AM ONLY GETTING 4440 in 3dmark05... specs athlon 64 3200+@ 2.22 ghz 1gig ram 2-3-3-6 PNY 6800ultra @stock forceware 65.76

and o yeah i've seen some people with athlon XP 3200+ or @ that speed getting higher score than me with an athlon 64 @2.22 ghz and with only a 6800gt... gosh i am pissed
 
Download 66.70 drivers and disable every setting in the control panel and set it to high performance.
 
can someone with similar or almost exact specs give me ur scores to compare please ty

Settle down, read the above post. Trust me the drivers make a huge difference. On my system I get 5270.
 
ok i will install 61.77 and elios lol sorry bout the caps and omg my score is low thing!! i was just surprised... hehe

In other words: Turn off everything you can think of, then Google search for more things to turn off so you can run a benchmark that will show you to a tee what your system cant do.

You are running at "real world" settings and getting a "real world" score. Makes more sense doesnt it? :D

Does it really matter? I mean it's just a number, as long as your system plays games shit hot (as I'm sure it does) whats the problem.
There's going to be hundreds of these threads over the coming weeks.

Exactly why I just deleted the stupid benchmark off my computer .
People like AZN freak out when the only thing keeping his score lower than everyone else is his driver set and not lowering his video options to Duke Nukem 3d levels :D
 
like 03 this test pretty much all video card. seems pure clock speeds on cpu not a major player.

He's got an FX-53 which is AMD's fastest CPU. I'm pretty sure 3D Mark is going to give PC's with an FX-53 or a Pentium 4 Extreme Edition the best scores.

You can't trust Futuremark. They bow to every sponsor they can and are biased twords certain driver sets. This thing is as useless as the last two versions.

I think it's only good for tuning your system. To see what changes you make do to the score. Checking to see if your mods make the system slower or faster. That's all I can think of it being usefull for. In which case you can do that with 3D Mark 03 just as well.

Well then mine is fuxored...I have more cpu and I get only 44,400's....
 
3dmark05 [R]aped my system pretty hard this round. But then again I bought these upgrades to get my 3dmark03 score up enough to play Farcry and HL2 anything else be damned.

Drivers make a big difference for sure.

4294 with 65.73 Forceware
4956 with 66.70's
 
ok i installed 61.77, it went down 200 points!! installed 66.70 and went up over 1000 to 5300!! woohoooo the 67.00 RuLeZ!

I guess I fail to see the point of 3D Mark 05 as a "gaming performance meter".

No, you got those upgrades to get your FPS up enough to play Farcry and HL2. Your 3dmark03 score doesn't affect how well you play those games.

Listen, I know there are a lot of people who say this ever since Kyle & Co. started to debunk the myth that benchmark scores mean everything, but jesus christ. Do we absolutely need the, "HELP! MY <insane system> ISN'T GETTING THE <arbitrary score> THAT <arbitrary third parties with similarly insane systems> ARE GETTING, HOW DO I GET <infinitessimally small amount> MORE 3DMARKS?!?!?!" posts?

LOL, yeah, that's a pretty obvious cheater.

3dMark05 requires PS2.0 to run ANY of the tests - the Ti4200 can't even run a single test on it!

True but I was being very truncated in my speak of course 3dmark03 won't help me play games better but I noticed I wouldn't be able to play any newer games because of 03, my score of 400 and my inability to use even 1024by768 was a glaringly obvious sign saying *upgrade!*. Now I know I won't have issues running any newer game and my 03 score gives me a good sign about that.
