I've got a 3000+ winchester, currently running on stock cooling. It's running in an Asus A8V motherboard.
It's a pretty decent clocker, and will do 280fsb (2520Mhz) on 1.45v without a problem (prime stable - load temps stay below 42C). However, if I increase the fsb any further I get serious instability problems. Anything over ~283 Mhz refuses to POST. The same happens if I drop my HTT multiplier down to 3x, drop the memory divider to 3:2, and drop the CPU multiplier to 8x. As such, I can only assumme that the motherboard itself is limiting the overclock...
Is there anything I can try to get around this, or am I basically 'stuck' with the maximum overclock of ~280fsb?
It's a decent overclock anyway, I know, but I just recently bought a second hand Vapochill XEII, and I was hoping to be able to get some more performance out of it, until I get a more 'multiplier friendly' chip. If there is nothing I can do to increase the fsb of the board any higher though, I'll be getting the same overclock on the vapochill as I am with the stock cooling, which seems unfortunate.
