I was out for the most part with A64's, but back now, replaced my m~athlon with a venice at 2.8ghz, and all is good.

although i have one question that lingers, HTT.. i have it set at 5x, i looked around for any info on it so i didn't have to bother you guys with the question but only found this from the overclocking guide which says
"Find your HTT multiplier (should have options from 2x up to 5x (socket 754 only has up to 4x max I believe)), and make sure it's at 4x."

could someone please explain it a little and how it effects overclocking/performance..

thank you~

The HTT link is the speed at which the major components (CPU and NB) on your board talk to eachother. The spec, on all current 939 boards, requires this number to be 1000. Just like running your processor at higher speeds, running the bus between these 2 components can cause instability issues.

The HTT speed is determined by the HTT multiplier x FSB. The stock FSB on all 939's is 200, resulting in a HTT strobe speed of 1000mhz. Setting your FSB to, let's say, 300 gives you a HTT strobe speed of 500mhz, a 50% overclock, and way above specifications. You will see very little performance difference from a HTT speed of 800mhz, all the way to 1500mhz, as this bus is hardly ever saturated (excuse my ignorance, this is all from personal testing mind you). You will see no benefit running at excesses of 1000mhz, and your stability might be greatly affected.

Try to keep this # at about 1000-1100. If your FSB is set to 300, a HTT multiplier of 3x should be in order, if your FSB is at 280-, a 4x will suffice. To have the best overclock/system thoughtput, increase your NB voltage by a tiny bit, and run at your highest FSB setting, coupled with anything that will get you OVER 1000mhz HTT (so 292 * 4) etc.
