The main reason I would like to do this, because chrome cast is keep disconnecting and time to time giving me issues mirroring my browser. I only watch TV shows, movies and soccer games thru chrome browser. Only other things I will install are remote connection software(possibly teamviewer) and flash etc...


1. What will you be doing with this PC? Watching videos or movies with chrome or firefox. and will use teamviewer or chrome remote to access to it from my phone/desktop PC.

2. Will you be overclocking? no

3. What's your budget? $100?

4. Where do you live? Microcenter 35min away, Usually use newegg. I actually have $25 gift card at the moment from Newegg. I live in central NJ.

5. What exact parts do you need for that budget? case, psu, board + the parts I have below, anything missing?

6. If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? I have already, 2.5' - 160gb HDD, 2x2gb ddr3 133mhz, I3 530 1156, G620 1155, G1820 celeron1150 CPU, will use one and sell the rest later.

7. What specific features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Thunderbolt? Crossfire or SLI support? How many USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb/s? all I need smallest PC to be able watch tv shows/movies on browser based streaming. I dont have HULU, netflix etc.. so I dont care about them. I guess 2-4 USB, 2sata, wireless and bluetooth what i need.

8. What resolution output do you need? 1080p, will run 42' TV no and replace it with 60-70' later

9. Does this system need to fit into a particular space and do you need an optical drive? the smaller the better. I was looking for linux sticks, but they are not mature yet

10. How comfortable are you with custom case design/modification and electrical wiring? What tools do you have - I have Screwdrivers, Dremel, Metal snips, pliers etc..

11. How important is the noise/silence of this sytem? I dont care, as long as sound from the htbc dont intervene with the move/tv show/soccer game I am watching

12. How mobile does this system need to be? Need a carrying handle or carrying straps? Is weight important (carry-on bag, etc)? Water cooling quick disconnects, etc?

13. Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? I have WIN 7 64 bit and WIN 8.1 64bit

14. When do you plan on building/buying the PC? not in rush. wanna build slowly but surely :)
