Any input, suggestions, comments are appreciated.

I just got a passively cooled EVGA 7600 GS, bluegears soundcard, and i'm about to buy the
Hauppauge WinTv Pvr-500 Mce 2 Tuner Pci (White Box) from Mwave for $130.

For the time being, i was gonna use the rig in my sig to try different software like media portal (since it's free)
on Win XP Pro (which is the OS installed in my rig).
Then when i get more comfortable recording shows and using the software, i would build a dedicated htpc.
I would also like to try MythTV w/Ubuntu or to use Knoppmyth, but I’m not an experienced Linux user so I’m holding off on that.

The htpc would mainly be used for recording tv shows, sports games, play movies, and music (i'm a music fanatic).
Not much gaming. I’m working at night now, and wanna get proficient at this before the NFL season starts.

Saints vs Colts! Sept 6th 7:30pm, mark ur calendars. I'm a Saints fan

I have a 53' Sony projection tv from 2002. Is it ok to hook up the pc to this tv?
I see some people talking about resolution on video cards and their HDTV lcd's ...along those lines and making sure it matches.
But I have an old projection tv. I have analog cable as well so
i'm holding off on buying a new LCD TV until later.

Also, what do y'all think about using the Logitech Z-5500 speakers?
It seems most people use a receiver and other speakers, but i was just thinking about using the Z-5500's..
I don't have any receivers, home speaker system, or the Z-5500's.
I have Logitech X-530 for the pc, but that's not gonna cut it.
Eventually would have to upgrade the sound system b/c the
tv sound isn't that great.

Thanks
