HTPC New TV madness

Ok, so I HTPC with media extenders. I get a new sony 40 inch tv for my bedroom (which uses a 360 as an extender, had a 32 inch vizio flat screen tv in there I moved elsewhere which was working perfectly via hdmi). I plug everything in (hdmi as well) power up the new tv and notice right away no sound as the xbox is loading WMC.
Next I notice I can only go to the lower tier channels, anything else it will not display saying my setup does not support HDCP. I ran the cable advisor (on the 360) and now it comes back with 2 items passing, but my "graphics card" not supporting content protection.
WTH?

Try re-running the cable advisor on your actual PC. Worst case scenario is you delete the extender and re-add it.

I did the cardinal sin... not replacing cables. Tried a new one, it didnt work immediately, went off to do something else came back and viola the hdcp problem went away but still no sound. Turned off the power strip to everything there and restarted the xbox and tv and sound was there... so apparently a bad hdmi cable...
