I have an HTPC Windows 7 setup for my relative that lately developed a strange issue. While on, the screen will suddenly go blank and the HDD light will blink and the PC seems to be in a sleep mode but CPU fan is in full speed.

This condition seems to remain until it is power off manually.

On power up. It will say "The previous overclocking had failed.". I am not overclocking this box at all. If I enter the BIOS, all settings seems to be the same as before. I can reset (save) or reuse (no save) the setting.

Either way, the boot shows that Windows 7 is resuming from hibernation. It takes like 3 minutes to resume from hibernation (just 2GB of RAM), compares to 1 minute from cold boot. I subsequently used powercfg to disable hibernate. I do not see the hibernate/hybrid sleep option in power options any more.

But the problem repeats yet again, and again.

I have the following hardware of interest:

MSI G41TM-E43 Motherboard
AverMedia Duet A188 tuner PCIe-x1

What should I try next?
