Parents have hundreds of DVDs/CDs and I want to build them a media center PC with the sole purpose of having their DVD library and music CDs available to watch/listen. Music/Video server.

Requirements are it has to compatible with Logitech Harmony remote and the populating the library must be dummy proof and usable with the remote. In a perfect world,

I am thinking a build with Windows 7 + Media Center with additional software for ripping DVDs/CDs that preferably works within media center.

Is there any software (doesn't have to be freeware) that could make the DVD copying/ripping process dummy proof? e.g. My Movies 3 - never used it? is it as easy as putting the DVD in and pressing a button? any other alternatives you can suggest?
Does it download the information off internet akin to media center master?

Is there anything like this that runs in WMC that rip CDs and download info?

mymovies3 + anydvd+ clone dvd = near perfect

it is worth the $$ My advice.... turn automatic updates off and have it boot into WMC with Media Center Only on.

for a nice easy to use HTPC low frustration...... have a small SSD for the OS and than a 7200RPM non Green drive for storage.

SSD will lower boot times, and then non green storage drive will keep stuttering with high bitrate videos from happening.

keep it simple and have weekly system backups.

Remote is simple, get the MCE USB IR Remote and Reciever and it will work great with any harmony remote

you are going to need to rip CDs and DVDs for them.... IMO
