Hello everyone,

I am in the process of finishing building my new htpc and one oy my main concern is about how can I play pc games in my living room being comfortable.

I will mainly play shooters and rpg's so I need space for my keyboard and mouse. I thought about a sliding tray (that the feet goes under the sofa) but I dont think its big enought to accomadate the keyboard and mouse. I really am having a hard time trying to get good info on this.

PS:I dont wanna play with my keyboard on my lap and my mouse on the sofa.

I don't know, I don't game on mine. If I want to play games on my sofa, I use the consoles. to me part of the PC gaming experience is being hunched over the desk with the screen right at your face. I like to keep the two activities distinctly different.
 
I always played pc game on my computer desk. Beleive me, if I had the choice between staying at my computer desk I would. It's just that I have a baby comming due in october and so my gaming room will be transformed into a baby room.

I am trying to get input from the people that game in the living room on there sofa's. There must be some of you doing that!!
 
Just started doing this last week so still working the kinks out. But, one thing I did find was a coffee table that the top lifted up and towards the couch to create a mini desktop of sorts. It's a stand sized coffee table so plenty of space for keyboard, mouse, beer, chips, etc...
Couple drawbacks so far is the table top goes to high to be comfortable on the couch and not far enough towards you. Will work on that though... If the couch was not so low slung it would be perfect. Right now I just put something under the back two legs and this makes it decent enough for a little fun.
 
I did build a snack tray with cup holders that could work as a keyboard tray. very simple device where the base slides under the couch and the top is larger. You could design it to go over the lap. I don't know how hand you are, but it wouldn't be to tough.
 
i have a pretty comfy setup, i have a chair that looks something like this (arms are longer though)

of course i have a sofa for when i just watch tv, and i have a gaming rig when i want to geek it up... but sometimes you want to game and not ignore your gf.

well i kinda slouch down in it natually and my arm goes down the arm rest, i have a mousepad that i attached a neat little holder that fits right on the end of the arm of the chair. The benifit is that your arm is relaxed and the mouse movements more precise. wireless keyboard just sits in my lap, when i don want it i just toss it on coffee table
