EDIT: DEAL DEAD but please read post# 13 for more info

Just want to say thanks to all the knowledgeable folks here for sharing all their great HTPC experience. Better hurry on this one because newegg refurbs sell out instantaneously. I don't have to tell most of you all the appealing characteristics this mobo has for an HTPC. For the silly price of $35 you can afford to chuck your current outdated matx into the garbage ;) It's the lowest refurb price for this mobo i've seen yet. And i've been tracking it for many months.

Quit reading and start buying: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-150-041R&type=Refurbish

Note to mods: Sorry for the cross posting. I didn't want the people in this particular forum to miss out on this very hot deal.

damn its tempting to buy that and drop in a 2100+ I have sitting here...throw in some RAM (although I dont really have any DDR just sitting here) and its a potentially good HTPC. nice find :)

Thanks for the [H]ot Deal! I'll take the risk, now I just need to try and find a SPDIF cable thingy for it somewhere.

If you're patient enough, i'll check the what bracket i have on my setup (pm me if interested). Here's a merchant that sells a few, not sure which to buy though: http://www.censuspc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=C&Category_Code=MBA001
Here's an inexpensive Vga to Svideo+Rca bracket: http://www.cable123.com/product_info.php?products_id=460

Are you sure this has soundstorm? It isn't listed as having it on Nvidia's website
http://www.nvidia.com/object/motherboards.html

Still one heck of a compact board w/ integrated everything. Would be great for that coolermaster desktop case. If you don't need uATX, wait for an Asus A7N8X refurb to come up for $40... $50 for the -E Deluxe version with the coax SPDIF.

The only thing its missing for "Soundstorm" is the optical bracket and Nvidia's official blessing (certification). The blessing is something most can live without ;)

Cool! I didn't know that. Do all nf2 boards with mcp-t have latent soundstorm encoders? How do you tell?

i have one of these boards.. and i just recently installed debian on it (as in yesterday).. everything is supported and working well.. its is a soundstorm card and works well with ALSA.. forcedeth.c in the recent 2.6.x kernels pushes the onboard nic perfectly..

just in case someone was going to use this for myth :)

MCP-T is the magic word here ;) and for some reason not all product descriptions will state "mcp-t" for some reason; the epox 8rda+ is such an example.
