I just finished putting together an HTPC and when I hit the power button the fans and hdd whirl up, but nothing ever appears on the screen. I've tried VGA and HDMI outputs from the motherboard, and two different monitors, but still the same situation. I think it may be a power issue; the power supply included with the HTPC case has a 20+4 main power ATC connector, however the board has a 24 pin main power connector and a 2x4 ATX 12V power connector. I have nothing plugged into the 2x4 as the power supply has no such connection, could that be the issue? Is the only solution a new power supply?

Yes that is the problem. Use the 4 pin ATX 12V the side of the that should work.

Yes, without anything plugged into that socket, your CPU is not getting any power.

Man do I feel stupid... What I originally thought was a PCI-Express video card power connector was the 4 pin 12V connector. With that plugged in and the 20+4 main power connection everything is working fine. Thanks for the help.
