im looking to upgrade my HTPC but having some trouble finding a good card that fits.
The main issue is the length. Most cards are WAY too long for my box. My 9600GT fits pretty good though.

The 9600 i have is only this long:

I looked at some GT 430's, but what what i read, they wont offer any / much of a performance increase. Any other ideas? GT520 maybe?

Does it need to be Nvidia? I just put a Sapphire Ultimate 7750 in mine. Fanless dual slot card, seems like a nice improvement over the 8800GT I had in there before. The regular 7750s are a little shorter though.

So I looked up the length of a 9600gt and it is listed as 9in long. Is yours shorter than that? Seems like alot of cards should fit if that is the case, or do you need a single slot card too to fit?

The card that Forceman linked is 9.8" in length, taller by ~1" and double the thickness of the card you posted. If that'll fit, it's a significant upgrade.

You might want to post what case you have...? Or maybe even better, a pic of the current fit.

Thanks for the replies. its smaller than most 9600gt's. Ill get a pic of it inside the box.

What are you upgraded to? If its Sandy or Ivy bridge the IGP is plenty good enough for HTPC duties.
