How important is it to keep the HT Link at 1000Mhz or less?

I'm running a Biostar TA770 A2+ with a 5200+ BE, currently running at 3.2ghz @207x15.5. The HT Link is currently at 1033Mhz. I tried dropping the HT multi down in the bios to keep it under 1000, but my system became extremely unstable. It's currently stable as is and CPU temps are at 46C under load, but I always heard that HT should be under 1000. Should I be concerned?

I wouldn't be concerned. I was running mine a 1.3Ghz for a while. It really doesn't do anything, though, so I dropped it way down.

Mine stays at 1200 or so. If I had any instability I would drop it down, but I don't see the need.

Generally it's best to keep the HT Link running at or below 1000mhz, but only for stability's sake. If you're stable at >1000mhz then run with it; just know that it isn't giving you any extra performance.

You run it at whatever is stable without much reguard for what that setting may be. Only the lowest settings make a small impact in certain cases.
