Im a little green when it comes to physically overclocking but know how to do it in concept. So im trying to overclock my ram and cpu, right now i got my fsb up to 235 at 2.5-3-3-5 with Patriot PC3200+XBL so i know they can go a lot higher. And my 3200+ Winny is at 2.35 ghz. I tried to run 240 fsb but it locked up on my desktop. I have searched the forums and havent found anything to help me answer my question and it is, what is HT Frequency? The user manual says "This setting specifies the maximum operating frequency of the link's transmitter clock." WTF???? Sounds like lawyer talk to me. I had it at 5x but it wouldnt post so i lowered it to 2x and it ran 3dmark01 with no problems.
Oh and it might be helpful is I tell you what my motherboard is
, MSI K8N Neo4. Any tips that you wanna give me on overclocking would be appreciated. Im not looking to set any record, not even close. Just want a slight overclock. Im happy with what i got right now but i would like to see how far i can push my system. I will probably just leave it where its at right now. And any comments on overclocking the videocard. Right now i dont have any urge to mess with that cause i havent seen any results that show its really worth it, just a few more points in the benchmarks. Sorry for all the ?'s but its a new rig and im starting to tweak with it after running it for 2 or 3 weeks.
