I have an ultima 90 (baby version of the thermalright ultra120 extreme) and I am wondering if I should have the fan pushing or pulling through the heatsink? Currently I have it facing East to West with the fan Pushing towards the back. I was thinking about trying to mount in North to south. and while in there wonder if I should change the fan orientation.

I think the best option is to push the air through the heatsink and out the back of the case. Then have a 120mm exhaust case fan to pull the air that is being pushed through the heatsink.

(that is my plan when my damn 120 extreme arrives in the mail, it has been sitting at the sorting plant for 3 days now... stupid canada post)

I recomend pushing the air, as you can focus the concentrated airflow over the heatsink, whereas you can't control exactly where the air is coming from (may not stream over the entire heatsink.

There really is no right and wrong anwnser, it depends on a lot of other airflow configuration.

I have an antec 900 case, w/ the side fan blowing directly @ the video card (1/2 on top and 1/2 on bottom). So mounted north/south it can suck up that fresh air coming in the side and spit it up out the top 200mm fan.

So just trying to see which would be better. I will probably try both and see what gives me better temperatures.
