looking for a nice hsf to replace the stock on a 4400+ X2,

i was thinkin either xp-120 w/ a recommended fan or ZALMAN CNPS9500...let me know if theres any other i should be considering.

PS. im also looking to do some oc'ing

The XP-120 and SI-120 are popular. You might want to look at Thermaltake's Big Typhoon also.

XP-120 and SI-120 are two of the best ones out there but if you dont mind a totally massive heatsink look at the Scythe Ninjas

get the xp-90.. its not so huge but its huge. And almost same cooling as xp-120 some sites show xp-90 had better results.

Then the review was either biased or flawed ;)

Consult the cooling guide... I would recommend the Thermalright SI-120.

doesn't that X2 4400+ come with that monster HSF with heatpipes? I think I read that it does a better job than most aftermarket HSFs. I would just use that one, and maybe swap out the fan.

Unless you're looking to push the chip as far as it'll go on air, the XP-90 should be sufficient. If you're worried about temps, or the ambient temperature around the computer tends to be high, look into the XP-120 or SI-120.

thanks for all the input guys, so im guessin it should be between the sl-120 and xp-120. looks like its a nogo for the zalman.

ill do some more reading on both the ones recommended, i might just wait till after i build my new system and see what my temps are, maybe the stock will do just fine
