HSF for Socket 478?

This is going to sound contradictory to everything you'll probably hear but, the cheapo (~$20) Coolermaster basic aluminum heatsink is almost silent, Prescott ready and does as good of a job as the Intel boxed Prescott cooler(which is better than most aftermarkets). It keeps my Northwood P4 at 85F idle in a room that's ambient temp is close to that. The Zalmans are also very good if a bit more expensive. No matter what cooler you get, make sure to get a tube of Arctic Silver with it and scrape the crap off the bottom that it comes with.
 
Well first of all..are u gona oc? if not then do u wantit silent? if so then do u have a Northwood,core or a pressy? is is a celeron,celeron D,P4 c,P4e,or a p4ee? they all have diff thermal specs and 1 hsf might cool more then the cpu needs? also are u on a budget? For a p4c non oced id use a stock intel cooler,u can mod then to run at a afster fan speed and thus cool the chip even more! the zalman is a A+ hsf but if u have a 2.0b p4 then its over kill to the max!
 
Thermalright XP-120 (if you can fit in that monster), or smaller but equivalent in performance SP-94 :D

I'm running a 3.0E Prescott. I plan to OC. And no it doesn't have to be silent. I'm not really on a budget either, but nothing crazy. And I don't want water cooling.
 
a top of the line hsf is on up in the price range..for $100 u can get a thermaltake aqua 2 thats fully ready for u to install,it will be quiet,cool running,and comes with every thing..i see u said u dont want water but the aqua 2 fits the bill quite nice,i have a 3.2e thats waterd..so for max oc the water is needed,we ran a aqua2 system to cool a 3.0c (my old rare ocer that died :( ) at 4.2 on the aqua 2 with awsome temps,its a all in 1 package,has block,rad,fan,mounting gear,hose,resi,ect...id look into it if not then the above mentioned 120 heat pipe setup,or a zalman copper flower setup is great also the swifteck is good for the price. so the rest is in your hands my frined..do what u feal is best for your needs.
