I'm currently building a new system (i7-875K on an ASUS P7P55D-E Pro) and I had originally planned to get the Hyper 212 HSF. However, Newegg is price gouging and i'm not going to pay $60+shipping for this HSF. Other places, Microcenter (oos at b&m location), Amazon, Provantage, etc... won't ship their product until July 7 or later - I ordered them, saw the ship date, and cancelled.
The 875K does not come with a stock HSF, so I really need one ASAP in order to assemble my computer. I'm willing to spend up to $40 max on this. I don't plan to overclock this system really, so don't say spend more to get a beastly hsf unless it's truly justifiable. Also, I don't want water cooling. this system btw will be used as my only computer for the next several years and also medium to heavy gaming for the next year and bit.
So far, my next best option is the Scythe Mugen 2 Rev B, but I'm hesitant about this because of its massive size/weight and reported difficulty installing it.
Any comments/suggestions/help please??
EDIT: I really can't find good reasons for me to get the prcicier megahalems and venomous-x (also looks risky). if you have reasons for these, please tell me
