HPL2335 Help displaying 1920x1200

My specs are in my sig, but for those with that option off, basically i have a hp 23" l2335 running through a BFG 6800GT.

Running at 1920x1200 shows up, but i have static or picture loss running up and down my display. I took some pictures up it, just imagine it running up and down the screen.

I also have a video of it, but imageshack can only host upto 1MB and my file is 1.3MB approx.

has anyone experienced this problem? I installed the display drivers that came with the HP CD
and i tried running nvidia 61.77 and 65.76 drivers, still no luck
Lavalamp, Rim... solutions?

Using the DVI-DVI cable? (Switch to it if not). Running at 60Hz? (Not likely to cause problems, but who knows). Do you have another monitor or PC to try the card/monitor with? Does the same happen at lower resolutions? If I had to guess, I'd say it was the card.
 
Monitor(DVI out) to 6800GT (vga in) works perfect in 1920x1200.

Monitor(DVI out) to 6800GT (DVI in) does NOT work in 1920x1200.
I get problems as shown above.

How could it be my video card?
3 or more people posted in the huge L2335 thread stating it runs fine on the exact same BFG 6800GT using DVI to DVI.


what gives?

ATI had something in their control panel that was something like "Turn down DVI frequency for high resolution flat panel monitors". Maybe NVidia has something similar. I actually can't find this is the new Cat control center.

Also, your DVI cable may not be good. The sheilding or something may be slightly damaged or just not good enough so the cable can't support that resolution without interference.
 
Try a different DVI cable.. but it sounds more like you have been victimized by poor quality control.. your transmitter on your 6800GT is slighty flawed...

Thus why your seeing the problems at 1920X1200

Call BFG and RMA the card..

YOU SIR ARE CORRECT!

I called BFG, and since their official answer for max dvi capability is 1600x1200 i wasn't able to justify RMA my existing card.
So I took my 6800gt out, went to best buy, exchanged it along with purchasing another DVI cable. Came home and installed it and POOF, without the new DVI cable, it worked!

1920x1200 via DVI-DVI cable powered by BFG 6800GT OC

Thanks everyone your help. I guess i have a bad dvi port.
 
Congrats, things like that are hell to work out unless you have replacment parts to try or a buddy nearby with the same stuff.

Say Compaq D530 when asked for your Model. You will then be directed to the Commercial Technical Support Group Desktops (which handle these monitors).

I will be there tomorrow maybe you will get me.
