Well,
sounds like a newbee question, but i formated a users HP ze4230 lappy and gave it a clean install winxp sp2. Worked like a champ minus his installed wireless pci card. He said that he has no information on it, but thinks it is an intel. I cannot find a suitable driver for this thing. It would not pull the driver off the winxp disc, nor would it find it when I hardwired lan(via web). I tried a few drivers(from HP site) but nothing worked thus far. Any help would be appreciated. Again sorry for the vaigness, but short of cracking the case is there something I can do? Opening a lappy is such a pain.

Most laptops have a door that you can access the mini-PCI card from. However looking at HP's site it looks like either a Broadcomm, or LAN Express card.

What does it say in Device Manager? You should see an yellow ! next to a unknown device, look and see what info device manager gives you. You might also check the bios to see if it lists the card in there.
